SERIF
SERIF* is a project targeting unemployed immigrants in Skåne in an endeavour to create a dynamic support structure for potential entrepreneurs within this group. This new structure will be based on unique experiences and needs within the target group. By mixing innovative methods and hands-on support in business development, the Serif project will facilitate the development of new ideas and back up new enterprises, in traditional as well as more alternative forms, e.g. cooperative enterprising.
Our general aim is to counteract an increasing segregation problem in the local community. Specifically we want to highlight the potential for innovation related to unique competences in the immigrant population. In doing so, the project will contribute to the regional development in Skåne and particularly to the business development in Kristianstad.
In the pilot project an innovative method for development of entrepreneurship will be tested and adapted to the target group. We will work in an open and process-oriented form, in which the participating group of immigrants will be instrumental. The process will relate to integration, entrepreneurship and business development issues in a partly experimental way, involving artistic tools and practices in search of new perspectives and innovative ideas. Representatives from the public sector, business community, non-profit organisations and social entrepreneurs will also be included in the pilot process.
The SERIF Pilot Project is a Coompanion Skåne project, supported by The European Social Fund and the Municipality of Kristianstad, Integration and Labour Market.
